“I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.” – Michael Jordan

😍 Founder of the week:
This week we present you Cyril Chiche, the entrepreneur who never misses a chance to please and who is now at the head of a unicorn valued at more than one billion euros.
Cyril Chiche graduated with a Master's degree in International Sales and Marketing and joined Neartek, a startup specialized in data storage. He progressed to become senior vice president of marketing and strategic development. He forged all his business experience there.
After 7 years at Neartek, he decided to start his own business and co-founded Avitis and Drinkon.me to finally launch Lydia in 2013 with Porte. Lydia was born from the unfortunate observation that "payment methods are segmented by usage" and that a universal solution was needed.
The innovative strategies (partnerships with schools), the performance of the startup (5.5 million users up to date) and its resilience in the face of the pandemic, all arguments that have allowed the startup to receive new funding (100M in December) and to place itself in the list of the most popular French unicorns. This latest round of funding was led by Accel (an early and growth-stage fund), Dragoneer Investment Group (disruptive vc fund) and Tencent (internet service portal offering value-added internet company).
